Larkhall Thistle Junior Football Club were founded on 17th April, 1878, and so are the oldest Junior Football Club in Scotland. The first game ever played was on Loch Park at the top of Machan Road and the gate drawings amounted to 14/3d.

After playing on various sites the club moved to the present site at Gasworks Park in 1884 and in 1888 the club was honoured when the SJFA asked permission to hold the Scottish Cup Final and the officials were extremely pleased when gate drawings amounted to £30.

The team play in red and white vertical striped jerseys and compete in the West Region Central 1st Division.

In a distinguished existence the club has won all major trophies with the exception of the West of Scotland Cup and has seen over 100 players move onto Senior Clubs and a number going on to represent their Country.

With continued support and enthusiasm the club are sure to produce players of this calibre in the future.

We run under an under 16 team who play in the Lanarkshire YMCA league on Sundays. Anyone player interested in a trial must be born in 1992 & should contact Donald Campbell on 01698-885726 for more details.

A fundraising weekly lottery runs with the prize money starting at £100 and rising by £50 per week until won. Three numbers wins the prize and entry is 50p a line. See any Committee member for entry forms. We now offer the facility to set up a 4 weekly standing order direct to the Club which means you are guaranteed your entry every week.
